Abstract. The relevance of studying the influence of environmental factors on the psychophysiological characteristics of cognitive functions of cadets of a naval high school is caused by the lack of research in this scientific field. The aim of research is to study the effect of seasonal changes of meteorological and cosmophysical factors on psychophysiological characteristics of cognitive functions and their electrophysiological manifestation. 81 first-year cadets of the Military and Naval Institute were investigated. Registration of electroencephalography, parameters of heart rate variability and photoplethysmographical characteristics of cardiovascular system were used simultaneously with psychophysiological tests in the autumn-winter and spring period. It was established that during the autumn-winter period with higher solar activity, speed of the wind, total cloudiness, low temperatures of atmospheric air in comparison with spring period were observed the displacement of the balance of nervous processes towards to inhibition. In the autumn-winter period, there was the decrease in the effectiveness of attention, spatial orientation, and reduction in the effectiveness of the solution of arithmetic problems was also recorded. At the same time, multidirectional changes in the bioelectrical activity of the sensorimotor cortex of the right and left hemispheres were recorded. It depended on the type of functional samples. Heart rate variability and vascular tone decreased in this period.

Keywords: ecological physiology, ecological factors, cognitive functions, EEG, bioelectrical activity of cortex, heart rate variability, photoplethysmography, vascular tone.
