ESTATE AT THE MASLYANAYA HEIGHT OF THE CHORA OF TAURIC CHERSONESOS AND EVIDENCE OF DESTRUCTIVE ANTIQUE EARTHQUAKE

Abstract. The article describes the consequences of the strongest earthquake of ancient times, traces of which have been preserved in the walls of the fortified estate of the Chora of Tauric Chersonesos above the Belbek River. Based on archaeological data, it was possible to date the earthquake to the third quarter of the 3rd century BC. The epicentral area of the earthquake was located to the West–North-West of the estate, in the West Crimean Seismogenic Zone. The intensity was Il = VIII–IX on the MSK-64 scale.
