Abstract. Statement that violations of social stability occur near the maximum of solar activity is the main result of the first famous work of A.L. Chizhevsky. The existence of a relationship between solar activity and averaged indicators of the psychological state of society has been repeatedly verified by independent authors on various data sets. The influence of space weather on the human nervous system is now found with certainty, however, all these patterns relate to small spatial (about the size of the city) and huge (about ten years) time scales of the correlation of solar activity with indicators of the state of the human nervous system. We conduct our own research on this issue in order to extend this evidence to a much smaller time scale. The effect of geomagnetic activity on the human nervous system was studied based on the correlation of the frequencies of occurrence of emotionally colored words, using the database of all posts from the dxdy.ru scientific forum received from 2006 to 2016. A subset of emotionally colored words was revealed, the relative frequency of occurrence of which correlates with the Kp-index at the level r = 0.4–0.6, p < 0.0001.

Keywords: space weather, social phenomena, emotionally colored words, internet-forum, optimization task, directed genetic search.
